The Ninja on this record
At 122 BPM, Modal Cat’s remix moves with the patient gait of a deep techno cut that knows restraint is its own kind of violence. The 5A key keeps the harmonic temperature bruised and crepuscular, while the energy level—pegged at a full 10—manifests not as cheap bombast but as suffocating pressure, every hi-hat and sub-bass swell carving out negative space rather than cluttering it.
This belongs in the after-hours melodic corner where atmosphere is currency and melody is a dangerous risk. It occupies that liminal pocket between warm-up and close-out, offering just enough propulsion to keep bodies locked without ever sounding generic. With no prescribed moods to box it in, the track simply generates its own weather.
