The Ninja on this record
I hear the kick lock onto a rigid 128 BPM grid, and with its energy dialled to 9 it wastes no time flooding the room. The vocal slices straight through the middle, carrying a hook that feels precision-engineered for open-air rigs rather than after-hours basements. There is scant subtlety in the arrangement, yet that 2A key signature gives the chords a minor-key tug that stops the sweetness from turning cloying.
In my sets, this sits best while the sun is still up and the crowd wants hands-in-the-air momentum instead of heads-down hypnosis. It is unapologetically functional house music: the kind of weapon I drop to unify a floor without risking a single empty bar. For all its gloss, the record knows exactly where it belongs.
