The Ninja on this record
I'd recognise that 128 BPM stride anywhere—it is the gait of a DJ who knows exactly which floor they're holding down, and at energy 8, this wastes no time climbing towards the rafters. In 1A, the harmonic bed sits in that sweet spot of minor-key tension that lets the vocal soar without ever collapsing into full sentimentality; to my ears, it is melodic house charged with an electro-house current that keeps the edges sharp.
I'd drop this as a textbook bridge record: slide it in after something deeper and watch the room tilt towards the booth as the refrain takes hold. It does not rewrite the formula, but when the lasers hit and the hands go up, I find that precise functionality feels like its own kind of brilliance.
