DJ City keeps the clock at a deceptive 115, yet the energy meter reads nine—so the pressure never dips. In D minor, the chords carry that twilight melancholy, but the drums hit with enough swing to keep it firmly in leftfield house territory rather than downcast ambient. Melodic phrases drift overhead like smoke, atmospheric but never woolly, while the bassline locks into a steady, tasteful pulse that feels quintessentially Public Possession.
It is the sort of record that turns a warm-up slot into a statement without ever touching 120. The room feels bigger as the pads expand, yet the floor stays busy because the groove is too insistent to stand still. Drop it after something slower and let that minor-key tension do the heavy lifting; it bridges deep crate-diggers and melodic heads without breaking stride.
