Polcari keeps the tempo grounded at 107 BPM, but the energy is deceptively fierce, pushing a humid, tropical pulse that feels closer to a slow-motion house hypnosis than typical downtempo ease. The melodic warmth hinted at in the original gets stretched across a wide, after-hours canvas, with the 5A key lending a minor-key melancholy that stops the brightness from ever tipping into poolside cliché.
It is exactly the sort of record Is It Balearic? Digital was built for: credible, slightly hazy, and unafraid to let a high-energy 9 out of 10 simmer rather than boil. I would drop this in the final hours when the floor needs propulsion without acceleration, letting its tropical house sway act as a bridge between deeper electronics and the encroaching dawn.
