The Ninja on this record
At one hundred and twenty-five BPM, the groove hits that sweet spot between propulsion and patience, riding a C minor chassis that tinges every euphoric swell with a knowing sadness. The energy dial might read ten, yet YokoO keeps the textures supple and breathable—this is peak-time progressive house that remembers the value of atmosphere, not just stack-heaving bombast.
In the mix, it belongs to that precious window after midnight when the room is fully liquid and a melodic anchor actually strengthens the tension rather than deflating it. Released on Silly Music, it functions as a late-night weapon, and my music intelligence agrees: this is the kind of record that turns a competent set into a coherent journey.
