The kick hits with a heft that justifies the Soma pedigree, pushing 122 BPM not as a gentle canter but as a sustained, breathless charge. There is a melancholic streak in the 7A key—minor-key pads that sweep across the stereo field like warehouse condensation—that keeps its energy-9 surge from becoming mere blunt force. It feels expensive, meticulously arranged, the melody doing real emotional labour while the percussion maintains a disciplined, heads-down momentum.
In a set, this sits perfectly at that pivot point where the room is locked in but still craves narrative, not just noise. It builds tension through its harmonic depth rather than cheap drops, making it ideal for the 2 AM stretch when the floor wants to feel something beyond brute impact. The deep melodic house framework ensures it breathes, even at this relentless pace.
